Darrell King joined NEA Clinic as Chief Operating Officer in August 2007. His responsibilities include oversight of all clinical operations in more than 20 NEA Clinic locations throughout Northeast Arkansas.

Prior to coming to NEA Clinic, Darrell served as Chief Executive Officer of East Tennessee Medical Group in Alcoa, Tennessee, leading that organization to significant expansion and growth from 1998 until 2007. During Darrell’s time with ETMG, the clinic established five new departments and nearly doubled in size by recruiting more than 30 physicians. In 2004, he guided the group to consolidate ten practice locations into a newly constructed 75,000 square foot medical office building. Darrell began his career in medical group management with The Jackson Clinic, P.A. in Jackson, Tennessee where he was Director of Business Operations from 1990 until 1998.

Darrell received a Bachelor of Science is Finance from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and a Master of Business of Administration from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee.

Darrell has been a member of the Medical Group Management Association since 1994, and he also holds memberships in the Arkansas Medical Group Management Association and the American Medical Group Management Association. He received the Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) designation from the American College of Medical Practice Executives in 2003. Darrell was elected vice-president of the Knoxville Area Medical Group Management Association in 2006.

Darrell has been active in leadership and community organizations across Tennessee and is a 2008 graduate of the Leadership Jonesboro program. He has served in a number of roles representing the University of Tennessee including membership on the UT Public Affairs Committee. In 1992 he was elected to the Board of Governors of the National Alumni Association.

Darrell and his wife, Tracey, live in Jonesboro with their two children. They are members of Central Baptist Church and enjoy spending time together as a family.
